  1. he performed this song live on ‘summertime special’ on itv back in 1988 i think when i started secondary school, anybody have an upload of that performance? not sure if it was ever released as a single. if it was, he could have been one of the few comedians to have had a hit in the british charts. russ abbott’s ‘atmopshere’ and ken dodd’s happiness’ are the only certain two who spring to mind

    1. Hale & Pace, Peter Kay, Vic Reeves, The Young Ones, French & Saunders, Roy “Chubby” Brown, Terry Scott, Peter Sellers…all had major hits, some of them Number Ones.

    2. I remember. I also remember a girl called Victoria laughing when I performed it in class the next day. Classic.
